A Role Hint is a part of defending where a player leaves a subtle clue typically made in public that links the person leaving the hint to a particular role or faction. While some hints are more subtle than others, any hint which is deemed too obvious is considered outing. The difference between a hint and outing is typically subjective and left to the interpretation of the host or other players.
